Sea results With H2O+ face Oasis Hydrating treatment and Oil Infused Renewing Serum

feeling hydrated already…
Want to hear a joke about seaweed? (Shore you do)

“What does seaweed say when it’s stuck on the bottom of the ocean…?”

MAINOS

“KELP, KELP!”

I love a good seaweed pun. I also love a good moisturizer/serum combo.

Enter the H2O+ face Oasis Hydrating treatment and their Sea results Oil Infused Renewing Serum. The H2O+ line is full of influences from the ocean, from their Black Sea Body Line to the Sea Lavender Skin Smoother. Each product boasts different blends of sea elements such as wakame, a seaweed that has been proven to decrease inflammation, to sea lettuce, which “supports skin firming collagen and elastin,” to fennel, which helps with anti-aging.

That’s a lot to absorb, all puns intended.

Starting with a clean face just out of the shower, I dove into the Renewing Serum. The smell wasn’t irritating or overpowering, but there was an unidentifiable scent, which I chalked up to the fennel and sea lettuce.

You’ll either love it or hate it, but I was all over it. As it dried, it left a slightly cooling sensation. While this is the pricier of the two, I only required two short pumps for my entire face.

I’ve always been scared of putting anything with oil in it anywhere near my body (I was a greasy kid), but this serum was light and delicate, absorbing into my combination skin in just a few seconds. It dried completely matte, leaving me ready for the next step in undersea skincare.

Feel the marine essence…

The face Oasis Hydrating treatment is the real gunshow of this duo. In the past, my only venture into moisturizing gels has been Clinique’s dramatically different Moisturizing Gel, which much more or less got the job done. Aesthetically speaking, this baby was a treat. When I opened the jar, I was hit with a strong scent that I couldn’t identify at first, something that reminded me of menthol. The wakame and fennel seemed to be much more concentrated in the gel than it was in the serum.

The instructions recommend dampening your face with water before applying the gel to help it absorb, and I second this motion. The first night I didn’t, and I found it took longer to sink in. On my second try, I misted with rosewater between serum and gel, which did the trick in a pinch.

After just a few days with this combo, I can say that I’m sea-ing some certain results. When I let it sink in before bed, I wake up with silky, non-greasy skin. This is unheard of in a pre-war new York City house building in the middle of winter. I’m typically extra dry due to prescription acne medication, and these two applied beautifully over my medications with no reactions. I’ve also discovered that my skin doesn’t seem to be suffering as much at the winter season winds as it has been in the last few weeks.

After only using it a week, I can’t quite gauge the reaction it might have with my acne, but so far I’ve seen no bad results.

If you want to introduce some oceanic elements into your skincare routine, you can’t go wrong with the H2O+ face Oasis Hydrating treatment and Sea results Oil Infused Renewing Serum. Whether you’re longing for the beach or just in need of some extra moisture, these two babies are sure to calm any incoming storms.
